What does 2017 and beyond hold? Here’s one piece of the puzzle. A Total Solar Eclipse will take place on August 21, 2017. The path of totality can only be seen from the US and runs coast to coast. On that day everyone in the Lower 48 will see at least a partial eclipse.
The eclipse is the first total solar eclipse visible in the continental US since 1979. It is also the first to traverse both US coasts since 1918, after which America became the most economically prosperous nation in the world. The eclipse is linked by cycles to the powerful August 11, 1999 total solar eclipse. Two days before it Vladimir Putin was appointed acting Prime Minister of Russia. The country then emerged from nearly a decade of depression.
For centuries eclipses have been harbingers of political, social and economic change. At 28º53′ Leo the Great American Eclipse of 2017 falls on President-to-be Donald Trump’s Ascendant/Mars. It is also opposite the USA Moon. It doesn’t get much bigger than this.
